Fairmont Hot Springs

Summer 2001

Some people believe that the benefits of the hot springs are concentrated in the mud!

Hot stinky water trickles out of the rocky ground. It flows into these tubs carved out of the rock itself. You can see it flowing out at the top left of the tub, running downhill, behind Marsha. The mud settles to the bottom of the tub, as Marsha discovered.

To the right, looking down the hill, there are more hot-tubs, but these are sheltered inside the rock walls of the Indian Baths.

Rumours are, that the pay-for-use, hot springs swimming pools, use regular water, and that the eruption of Mt.St Helens has disturbed the quantity and quality of the waters.
